General Exhibition Information
The SBL Annual Meeting, held in the United States in November, is the largest gathering of biblical scholars in the world. Each meeting showcases the latest in biblical research, advances education, and focuses on issues of the profession. The exhibit hall, with one of the world’s largest collections of books and digital resources for biblical studies, regularly draws over 5,000 people per day during the four-day event. Exhibitors are not restricted to books but can display other items of interest to our attendees.
The SBL International Meeting is held annually outside North America. It provides a unique forum for international exhibitors who are unable to attend the Annual Meeting or for those who want a more focused interaction with international scholars. The meeting normally takes place mid-summer and — depending on the city — draws between 400 and 1000 scholars. This meeting is usually held on a university campus and offers opportunities to display merchandise on tables set up in designated areas.
The SBL Regional Meetings are groups of US members that meet annually, in the spring, with other complimentary groups such as the American Academy of Religion, the Catholic Biblical Association or the Americal Schools of Oriental Research. These meetings tend to draw hundreds of attendees, depending on the region. They govern themselves autonomously and information on exhibiting and advertising can requested from the Regional Coordinators listed on the
regional meetings page.
